Lentil beads make great beaded tassels. Use seed beads to make a fringe at the bottom and a ribbon or wire to make a loop at the top. Lengths of chain also make great fringe for tassels!
Hello Cindy, Just wanted to know if you have tried the (Studio) polymer clay by Sculpey? It comes in a 2.8 oz. package, and have not been to find how well the quality is. Thanks, Yvonne
No I haven’t personally tried it yet Yvonne though I hear it is excellent quality. It is quite strong and doesn’t slump when baking so works well for sculpted pieces. It also has a matte, suede-like finish and because of that will not buff to a shine.
I also have heard the ‘Whipped Cream’ color (white) is supposed to be the best for doing image transfers on. Not positive why its better, just hear it is.
Was hoping my local Michaels would carry it so I wouldn’t have to pay for shipping but it looks like I may have to bite the bullet.
Hope that helps!
Cindy,
If there is a Hobby Lobby near you try there, it is the only place I have found it. I picked up two bars, a black called After Midnight and a lime green called Wassabi, just to try.
Has anyone tried mixing the Studio and Premo together?
Thanks
Yvonne
Unfortunately Yvonne, there are no Hobby Lobby’s in Canada. At least not on the West Coast. The only craft store that exists anymore is Michaels and the craft section in Walmart. There aren’t any little stores around anymore either. So the only option is online, which can be a pain with the border.
As far as mixing Studio by Sculpey and Premo Sculpey, they will blend if you mix them thoroughly. I hear they tend to separate from each other if on top of one another though, so you will have to test it to see for yourself. Hope that helps!
