Millefiori Heart Pendant | Flower Bead | Interchangeable Jewelry

In yesterday's intro video clip for the Vol-020 Heart Shaped Beads tutorial, I included some shots of the interchangeable pendant and heart focal bead shown above in today's photo. As you can see, the Millefiori heart design is decorated with cane slices from the Gerbera Flower Cane.
From previous comments, I have learned that many of you want me to do a video tutorial on how to make the interchangeable wire pendant.
I think is an excellent project and definitely would like to see a video. the really cool thing is that it is different. I love the idea of the interchangeable center bead.

Well you guys are in luck. I will be including the wire working tutorial for this unique interchangeable pendant, in this month's video line up [Vol-020-4]. On Friday Jan 29, just a couple of weeks from now, it will be added to the Polymer Clay Members Library for your viewing pleasure.
Cindy – Thanks for including the interchangeable pendant in this month's tutorials. I make an interchangeable pendant setting and another for interchangeable beads out of sterling or gold filled wires. My pattern is quite complicated, and uses lots of wire. I am looking forward to finding out how you do yours! It appears less complicated but still lovely and seems to lend itself to PC, whereas mine is for semiprecious stones. I've sold a few but they are quite expensive because of the materials and hours I put into them. I would imagine that I could sell yours at a much lower price. Since I sell most of my work at my church I like to keep the prices down, even though I give 100% of the money back to the church. This seems to be my mission. I can hardly wait for this tutorial! ~Carolyn-F
Valentine's is going to be especially fun this year with your interchangeable pendant jewelry.
In the morning you could start out with a Blue Gingham Heart Shaped Bead, or perhaps with one of the heart beads you learn how to make in this week's Vol-020-2 library tutorial. Then maybe switch to a mixed media design at lunch. And finally, end up with a winged heart showpiece to go with your evening attire.
For a more masculine or edgy look, you could cover a heart shaped focal bead with skull and crossbones cane slices, or even do something using the faux bone carving technique you learned about in the Vol-019-4 library tutorial.
So many possibilities!

Cindy, you have to find a way to convert that tassle into a belt buckle. Wow. To be able to change out pendants or bead displays? Too awesome!

Wow! Thanks! Am I ever going to be busy the end of the month getting some of these made for the sale at the church. My great desire is to combine wire working with PC so you are hitting the nail right on the head with this one!

The interchangeable pendant will be awesome. I agree wire looks good with PC. I just bought a roll of the black steel wire and I'm going to make some beads and try out the messy wrap- I like that.

@Cheryl: That is great! Make sure to protect your steel wire with a coating like PYMII or keep it away from water so that you don't get rust on your pieces. You are going to love the look of the wire. It actually looks quite similar to Oxidized Silver.

I've only been making beads out of clay for a couple of months, but I feel the videos in your Polymer Clay Beginners Course where just great for someone breaking into the craft. Some of the topics I had already gleaned from the Internet from various sources but it REALLY helped to have a high quality video to SHOW you up close and personal about the topics you discussed. I definitely feel the series is a bargain and would recommend it. I subscribed to your weekly videos and have made beads from many of the tutorials. I look forward to the new video that comes out each week. I'm just beginning to experiment with mixing colors, so I believe the recipe cards will come in really handy in the future as well. – Keep up the fantastic work!
