One Week Delay For Vol-068 PcT Videos & Color Recipes

Polymer Clay Tutor 2014 New Years EveNew Years Eve Murder Mystery Trumps First Friday, Polymer Clay Tutor Publishing Schedule.

The holidays got the better of us this year (in a fun way as you can see from the photo), and we ended up having to delay the Volume 68 member videos, plus all of the color recipes (both A- and B-series), by 1 week.

As most of you know, it is on the First Friday of each month that we normally push out the latest content. But for this month only (Vol-068), you will have to wait one more week for your fix. The current Volume 68 content will be published on the second Friday of January 2014… on the 10th.

Apologies to anyone who has been waiting on the edge for this one (the topic was leaked on Facebook for those in the know ;-)… but we (the whole Lietz family) have been working so hard over the holiday season, and decided to cut loose a bit to have some fun on New Years Eve.

Actually, we can (partially) blame Ronald Trump for this delay. He’s the guy in the photo with the unmistakably distinct hair waft.

Polymer Clay Tutor 2014 New Years Eve

Here’s the back story…

This year my brother and his wife went all out and decided to host one of those murder mystery role playing dinner events at their house for some New Years Eve Fun.

They assigned a character to each of us. The theme was Sin City (Vegas) and the costumes were quite specific in their requirements.

Doug was Ronald Trump. Hence the need for a comb over wig you see in the picture above… which I couldn’t resist making myself, with some separated twine, pantyhose and hot glue.

I was Hustling Hailey, a gold digger who married gambler Ace High for his money (played by my Dad – not in photo), even though I’ve spent a lot of my time with Paul Piano the lounge singer (played by my nephew – not in photo).

Willow was Mimi Martini, a presumptuous cocktail waitress… and Fisher was an Elvis Impersonator… of course! I’m sure you can figure out who’s who with these two in the photo above.

So… needless to say, instead of working like we were supposed to, we started playing and couldn’t stop… staying up late with the glue gun instead of sitting in the studio and at the computer getting the Vol-068 videos and color recipes ready for you guys.

Again, sorry for this temporary delay. We promise to be on time from now on.

Happy New Year to you… and also to all of those who are important to you!! Thank you for being a part of our lives. And may we all have a creative, successful… and playful, new year in 2014!

One more week of delicious anticipation! …. no worries, glad you had a great New Year! Cindy, you must have read my mind on this one, have been thinking about a project like this for quite a while …. but I won’t spoil the surprise for non-Facebookers ….

A very Happy New Year to the Lietz family, and to all my fellow-clayers! May it be a
    super-creative year for us all!

… and thanks, once again, for all you do – it really is SO appreciated you know! :-)

  2. Cindy Lietz, 02 January, 2014

Thank you so much Lesley! Happy New Year to you and your family! Looking forward to a fun and creative year of claying!

  3. Monique U., 02 January, 2014

Hope your night was a great hoot, guys!

Many Blessings to you all for 2014!

  4. Cindy Lietz, 02 January, 2014

It was Monique! Lots of laughing and giggling… and of course sinister scheming! LOL I wish you Love, Peace, Happiness and of course Endless Blocks of Polymer Clay for your new year!

  5. Anna Sabina, 02 January, 2014

You all work so hard on the tuts and videos. I am really happy you broke loose and had fun. The picture is hysterical, especially the twine wig. Who was the murderer? Was the victim’s throat slit with a clay blade?

  6. Cindy Lietz, 02 January, 2014

    **Spoiler Alert!!**

Well, as it turned out Anna, I was the murderer! (Didn’t even find out till after the murder, which is the way it works in these games! LOL) I unfortunately killed my new husband Ace High with my pearl necklace. For a few reasons, which I will not go into here. ;)

Was so much fun to blow off some steam! Have been under a fair amount of pressure lately, so it really was something we all needed to do. Ready for another action packed year of claying!! Are you ready?

  7. Michelle A, 02 January, 2014

I hope you all had a blessed New Year’s celebration!!! I think, however, if there are any incriminating photos or better yet videos exposing further Lietz family silliness that they should be posted ASAP, LOL!!!!!! God Bless you all and Happy New Year!!!

  8. Cindy Lietz, 02 January, 2014

LOL! I don’t think there are too many more photos Michelle, since we were all so involved with the story that we didn’t even get photos until it was all over. By then my lipstick was gone and everyone was beginning to look a little ‘less put together’. If there is any incriminating photos or videos kicking around, maybe Doug aka Mr. Trump will let them leak to the paparazzi?!

  9. Karonkay, 02 January, 2014

Hope you had loads of fun. ..although I am looking forward to the tut. Happy New Year everyone!

  10. Cindy Lietz, 02 January, 2014

We did have fun Karon, thanks! Hope you and Dave had a wonderful holiday! Happy New Year to you and all those you love. I think it is going to be a great year!

  11. Lawrence, 02 January, 2014

Happy New Year to you, Doug and the family.
Glad to see you had a good time. I haven’t been to a murder mystery role playing night for years. Not since the Surrey Little Theatre used to do them for a fund raiser…LOL…now I’m dating myself.
I am not on Facebook but a friend leaked the info to me re this month’s project which raised my anticipation level even higher.

  12. Cindy Lietz, 02 January, 2014

Happy New Year to you too Lawrence! This was the first murder mystery night that I have even been to and I loved it! Would love to do many more of them, though I wouldn’t say I was super good at it. Wasn’t sure exactly how to mingle at a party as someone completely opposite as myself. I could dress up and act the role, but I couldn’t ‘think’ like a gold digging murderess… so was often stuck on what I should say or ask people. Now that I know how the ‘game’ works, I think I would be a little better at it next time. No worries though, we were all newbies and had a blast!

Now, I bet you’re pretty good at them! You seem like you have some theatrical genes in your bones. :)

Hope you enjoy the new tutorial. It has a lot of ideas, so you can take the project in your own artistic direction. A great project to work on over the winter.

Thank you so much for being with us all these years and for your wonderful input! Have a happy, healthy and clay filled 2014!

  13. Valerie Howell, 03 January, 2014

You all looked liked you had fun. I wish you and Doug all the very best for the New Year. I’m sure we can wait one more week – well maybe a bit impatiently:)

  15. Tante Sherry, 03 January, 2014

    oops – ^ sneezing jag :)
Wow – so happy to see you guys having a blast together!! I’m ready to spend another year by Cindy’s side learning–blessings to all in 2014

  16. Dixie Ann, 03 January, 2014

    Bless you.

  17. Michele Haffner, 03 January, 2014

    Hello Cindy and PCT Community,

Cindy, thanks so much for sharing your wonderful picture and story! I can totally relate to your difficulty at thinking “in character.” I’m glad you had a great time! Thanks for all your hard work and contributions to this community. You are amazing and a blessing to us. I am also so thankful for this wonderful community of clayers. Best wishes for a healthy, creative, and prosperous 2014. God bless everyone.

  18. Cecilia K, 03 January, 2014

Happy New Year to you all!!

And Doug, you are so much more handsome than the real Donald even with pantyhose on your head.

  19. Jill V., 03 January, 2014

Even before I read your character descriptions, I knew that Doug was Donald Trump! You nailed the hair!

  20. Andrea Paradiso, 03 January, 2014

As for this news that the tutorial will be a week late, I am terribly upset…that I was not invited to this obviously WONDERFUL and OUTRAGEOUS party! Lolol! Oh, I know I would have enjoyed myself highly there using my wonderful Trickster skills. Too bad!

But that only leaves the opportunity open that perhaps next year, I will be the host. And then we shall do “All About Eve…The Sequel”. Cindy, you shall be a brilliant star as Margo (Bette Davis) and I shall help you make the long, flowing Margo wig. I will play the Evil little Miss Eve (Ann Baxter) and I will kill Addison DeWitt (Fisher). Willow shall play a dual role…Karen (Celeste Holm) and Miss Caswell (Marylin Monroe, of course! And…let’s see…Doug HAS to be Bill Simpson of course, making passionate love to you behind the marble columns. You shallplay the Sherlock Holmes and smoke me out and have them cart me off to jail! I am quite satisfied with my vision of this and cannot wait to rehearse it all out. Get ready!

Have a most Wonderful, Joyous, Lovely and Fortune Filled New Year! I did not see the spoiler alert on FB so I will leave it at that and get my proper surprise next Friday. Many muahs! to All!

  21. Dixie Ann, 03 January, 2014

I didn’t see the FB alert either so maybe. It got clipped. Glad you guys had fun and took some family time. Love the photo thanks so much for sharing.

  22. Michelle A, 04 January, 2014

Hey Dixie Ann, I think the hint is in the Reviving Dried Out Gilders Paste with Paint Thinner mini tut. :o)

  23. Dixie Ann, 04 January, 2014

Gosh Michelle, didn’t find a thing about the next tutorial where you thought it might be. ;) Only one more week to wait.

  24. Michelle A, 04 January, 2014

I’m betting that her reference at :20 is a hint about our next tutorial. ;o)

  25. Connie H, 03 January, 2014

You guys works so hard all year. It is great to see you “cuttin’ lose!” Don’t worry about us – we’ll be good until next week! Except, maybe, for being jealous for not being able to participate in your fun!! ;D

  26. elaine faulks, 03 January, 2014

    Hi Cindy & clan
So good to see you having a fun time and YES we all forgive you for making us wait another week (but don’t do it again) as us addicts need our fix!!!

My sister and I spent a week in London doing all the touristy things. Visited China Town ( great bargains to be had) we stocked up on Chinese paint brushes and inks.

The Victoria & Albert Museum, which was amazing especially the huge and jaw- dropping jewellery displays, we spent an hour just looking at all the fab pieces of jewellery that had been fashioned through the centuries

Watched The Phantom of the Opera (first time my sis had seen a live West End Musical). Saw The Wallace Collection of which I have longed to visit for years for as well as the many treasures housed there, my Mother had a reproduction of the famous Laughing Cavalier in her hall. The eyes of which would follow you round the room and I got to see the original. Wow. AMAZING!

At 6pm we made our way (with 50’00 other people) along the Thames Embankment and at 8pm found a spot opposite the London Eye. We stood, danced, drank ” Champers” till midnight until the fireworks and Big Ben rang in the New Year.
For safety, all the surrounding tube stations were closed so we were forced to shuffle along in the huge crowd for miles where free buses were laid on to take us back to North London where we were staying.
I got crushed and knocked over but was prevented from being trampled underfoot by a Security Guard who grabbed the hood of my jacket and hauled me over the barrier.( A very scarey moment.) If I go again I will borrow a suit of Armour from The British Museum!!!
We eventually got back to where we were staying at 3.30 am. So it was quite an adventure. All the places we visited were free admission but we were asked to make a donation (whatever you could afford)
Glad to be back home now and waiting for my dog-minder to bring my little Jessica back, it seems so quiet without her. So wishing all you lovely peeps a Happy and healthy 2014 and many play-clay times…….cheers xx……………………..

  27. Dixie Ann, 03 January, 2014

Wow, Elaine you sound like you had a terrific holiday.
Great way to bring in a New year but am glad you are okay and didn’t get hurt. Would love to do all those things, London is on my bucket list. Hope you have a great 2014!

  28. elaine faulks, 05 January, 2014

    Thanks Dixie,
had to spend a couple of days in bed after, but it was worth it xx

  29. Cindy Lietz, 05 January, 2014

Well don’t you know how to whoop it up!! So glad you survived the crowd and didn’t get trampled!! Wearing that armor next time, isn’t that bad of an idea… maybe you should do that?!

Happy New Year Elaine! I am looking forward to an eventful and creative 2014. So glad you’ll be along for the ride!

  30. Gina A, 03 January, 2014

  37. Elizabeth Kerr, 05 January, 2014

Just Kidding of Course! Hope it was a great one. It is such a pleasure having you in our sweet little clay family. Hope to hear from you lots this year!

  39. Elizabeth Kerr, 05 January, 2014

    Hi Cindy,
    love your song,LOL, funny.
Yes 81 does sound as if maybe I’ve been around long time, as I have ,but don’t you know, 81 to me is the new 65.LOL,
so I will be doing more P.C. than ever this year.
Last year and the year before,Chain Maille got in the way.
I was even teaching that,at least what I had learnt of it, so that is out of the way for this year too.
Love seeing you in your videos as I said I wanted that all along. Keep up your great work, it is truly appreciated.
    Thanks for the greeting too.
    XXXXXXXXXX

  40. Ken Hamilton, 04 January, 2014

I LOVE IT!!!! Costumes are perfect, just hope you all didn’t catch the acting bug or we’re all in trouble… B)

Glad you got a chance to unwind and have a bit of fun, Happy New Year to The Lietz family!

  41. Ken Hamilton, 04 January, 2014

    I can’t resist this, SORRY!

Lady Premo, in the Art Studio, with the Pearl Necklace…

    MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  42. Cindy Lietz, 06 January, 2014

LOL!! Good one Ken! No, I don’t think I have caught the acting bug just yet… I am much better at playing my own role, though I do love making costumes and props. Always thought it would have been awesome to be in stage design or part of the art department on a show like Survivor. Did you see the last immunity idol on Blood vs. Water? I swear it was polymer clay, though the rest of the family would not agree. (They think, I think, everything is made with polymer clay!) :)
