Wednesday is finally moving day. Can’t wait to be able to use my new studio/second bedroom that I designed and my brother-in-law Doug put together for me. I probably won’t be able to clay around til next month–still have to clean out the rest of the current house, put it up for sale and settle into new condo. I still watch the videos and read all the comments, but haven’t posted anything. My sister Cindy and brother-in-law Doug (the first Cindy and Doug in my life!) (no–my niece and nephew are named Nicole and Dylan–not Willow and Fisher!) have really been helping me out with everything since Mom died.
Please do not take my silence as not enjoying or not liking any of your videos or color palettes,
I’m just totally overwhelmed right now and cannot wait to get this horrible six month chapter finished in my life.

Hi Cindy, thank you so much for showing us all the new Sculpey products for 2014. I have already ordered some of them so will be anxious to see you demonstrate them all. I did not get the new bead rack but after you showing it, has piqued my interest. I am also excited to see you use the new silk screen package and then hopefully you can use a design in the new bezel mold. Blue Bottle gave a wonderful in dept review on the new souffle and the feed back on this clay has been very exciting and I look forward to watching you demonstrate it. I think Polyform has a winner in all these new products.

This is so cool that your showing these products now. I just bought the silk screen kit and the hollow bead tray so i’d like to see you show those. The new clay sounds interesting too.
Lots of fun things in the box. I would like to see the Silk Screen, Tool Organizer and Hollow Bead Maker. Oh, and of course Souffle, I still have some Studio by Sclupy. You may need to add another multi drawer storage unit to your studio to hold the Souffle. Not sure where you can squeeze that in.
I actually did a little reorganizing of my drawer units and will have lots of room for the new clay. Nice to see you were worried for me though! :)

Wow! What a great array of new products. I am most interested in seeing: the bead maker, the hollow bead maker, molds for the cabs & bezels, the baking rack, silk screen kit, the clay. (did i leave anything out? ; ~)
Some great new products there. I would like to see the silk screen kit most of all. Also the moulds and hollow bead maker. The soufflé clay sound really interesting too.
Some great things there that I am sure will be a help to new clayers. I wish they had been around a few years ago so I wouldn’t have had to improvise a lot of them (with some help from yourself).
I would like to see what you do with the silk screens, like you did with stencils, but would prefer a tute on making our own silk screens with some of the new UV screens available.

.My fav was the silk screen as it looked a nice size to have with all the pieces to do the job.
also the silicone moulds very useful.

Hi Cindy, thanks for the demo. I have already been using some of these products love the silk screen kit. Are they going to bring out more colors to use with this. Or can we use other acrylic paints with it the paint does have a thick constancy. I also love the hollow bead maker.
Hi Jeanine, you can actually use any acrylic paint that you wish with the silkscreens. Higher quality paints are more flexible and bond better to the clay, but most kinds will work.
Love all the stuff! I, too, want ot see the hollow bead maker used. Silk screen next and then all others. You have your work cut out !!! Thanks for the preview.
And of course, the Tinapple extruder discs…………… Lots of fun things coming up.

I was anxious to try the new clay and wrote Polyform to see when they would be available here in California. JoAnn’s now has it on the shelf, Hobby Lobby will start in July and I was told that Michaels will not be carrying the new clay. Hope they change their mind.
Michaels does carry the new tools and supplies though. They should think about bumping out the Craftsmart clay to make room for the Souffle… that clay sucks anyway! ;)
I so wish, wish, wish that Michael’s would sell on line. You must have enough ‘clout’ now Cindy to persuade them. On the few occasions we’ve visited the US I’ve always asked the cashier when they’re going to be available for folks outside the USA. Always a negative response. Rather short-sighted as there must be a huge market out there. Cone on Michael! Do us a favour!
Marion, Michaels does sell online now. They just started a few weeks ago. I don’t know if they ship outside the US but it is sure worth a try to find out. I know they have a flat rate shipping for US.

Hi Marion, with some web stores you have to set up an account first and sign in before you can order anything or view their online catalogue. Rio Grande is a good example of that, but many are like that. They store your information on their servers and once you log in with your email and password, you then gain access. Did you try setting up an account first with Michael’s?

I would love to see the silk screening kit demo. I have purchased the disk by Helen Breil, can hardly wait for them to arrive . I was also reading the post form Dulce Tesoros, and went to look at her masks on FB they are beautiful. I have wanted to make mask from PC but have not found a way to bake them to hold their shape. I do make masks on my embroidery machine. But they are flat they need shaping I have tried using the plastic masks from Joann’s but they are sort of soft for any pressure on them. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Barb, I haven’t made masks before, but I know others have. Are there any papermache masks out there that you could try baking on? Or maybe a plaster head or something? Maybe you could make a simple actual size face out of polymer clay and bake it for a mold? Just an idea or two.

Yes, I did try just putting in my e-mail, I used my ‘hotmail’ account so they wouldn’t recognise me as British, but up came the registration page, and again when I put my UK zip code in the message popped up asking me to enter a regular zip code, in other words they don’t recognise anything other than an American or a Canadian zip code. Sad really as this is very short sighted of them, there’s a wealth of people over here who could boost Michael’s sales a great deal. Whenever we visit the US – which isn’t often enough! – I always make a bee-line for Michaels, I love it, it’s like an Aladdin’s cave. We don’t have anything nearly as big over here largely because of the extortionate rates for property. Our available land is limited, and getting smaller by the day!

Gosh Marion, sorry to hear that. I guess your only other recourse is to have someone purchase it for you maybe like a friend or family member and have them ship it over there. Have you checked other websites to see if they ship overseas? There are many online stores that sell PC products and maybe one of them would. It might be worth checking that out also. Good Luck Doll.
Thanks Dixie Ann. Trouble is, anyone in the USA purchasing it on my behalf and sending it across ‘the pond’ would instantly find that no one will ship liquid items. Amazon won’t, and other companies I’ve tried also won’t. We also have a greedy Post Office who charge a phenomenal amount for postage of more than $15. I’ve just found this with the company who sell Cynthia Tinapple’s extruder discs. The postage they want together with the cost of the discs comes to well over $15. Last time I ordered something from the USA which had a postage of $18 I was charged an import duty plus an extortionate administration charge by the Post Office which totalled £20 (approx $33)! this made the total cost of the extruder discs unaffordable and I had to delete my order.
You don’t know how lucky you-all are over there!

Thanks very much for the tip re: Cynthia Tinapple’s extruder discs. I went on Amazon just now but couldn’t find them, even tried just ‘extruder discs’, still no luck. Can you tell me what search you used to find them?
Just found a garden centre that sells Premo! clay for £1.99 ($3.20 approx). This is a good price over here (it usually costs around £2.70), but I’ve seen it in Michael’s for a lot less, and that without a discount!

Sorry Dixie Anne, me again – just had an e-mail back from Kazun Beads – I complained about the extortionate postage rate for CT’s extruder discs and Judy wrote back to say they’ve adjusted their postage to the UK – didn’t know about our greedy post office! – now it’s only $10 (compared with $18 before). Seems it pays to let people know about issues over here, she didn’t know and was grateful to be informed.
I wonder if they would for nz too alter the postage that is. Reason why I won’t get them is because the postage costs as much as the disks.

Why don’t you write and ask, there’s a ‘contact us’ button at base of page. The worst they can say is ‘no’. Tell them we both belong to the same club and relate how they adjusted postage for uk. Difficult to refuse one when another has been given adjustment. Good luck!

Hi cindy, off this topic, have u ever done “backfilling?” If so, what is it and would you consider doing a class with this tecnique?
Hi Sandra, yeah I have done back filling and yes that would be a could topic for a class. Basically it is where you remove clay from a baked or raw piece of polymer clay (usually by carving), you bake it and add new soft clay to the backfill the removed area. It’s kind of hard to explain here, but is a good thing to learn through a video. Will add that one to the list!

Just recovered from chronic dehydration, so not much contact I’m afraid, but I still had your fabulous tutorials to watch and mull over – no energy to actually try them, hoping to get back to full swing very soon. I’ve been doing some surfing and came across a tutorial on Polyform where the teacher was using fine glitter through one of Sculpey’s stencils. It looks fabulous and I wondered if this might be a future tutorial you could demonstrate as using glitter thru a stencil sounds rather risky but exciting.
I hope you, Doug and the family are all well and finding some time for yourselves occasionally!

Looks like they added it to some glazing medium or something. Will have to experiment with that kind of thing. (I bet it will be trickier than it looks though.)
