Thank you so much Cindy and Doug! So many frustrating questions answered: using the shelf liner to keep the piece from moving, actually seeing how the bubbles are eradicated with the lighter, and knowing that the piece has to cure long enough to avoid smearing. On to making beautiful jewelry!

Ah’ I am flattered to see my teacher’s has posted my work above. I hope many who see them will be inspired enought to purchase your tutorials. You Guys are Fabulous teachers. I say that because Cindy and Doug work as a team. We can’t have one without the other ;)

Look at all those beauties! Cindy’s UV resin tute was just the thing for many members…to take that ‘next step’ with their clay…to give it that glossy, glassy shine. There was “resin” talk around here for a long time, but only a few ‘brave souls’ seemed to be trying it — I know I was “afraid” of resin until Cindy paved the way with her video! As soon as I saw it, I was able to place my own order with Ultradome! (Well, okay, I ordered from the sister site…Epoxyjewelry.com.) ;D Thank you, Cindy…and congratulations to the star students who have their beautiful work on display!!!
I’ve got everything I need to do a resin project except the time to make something. I see the “oven” and the bottle of resin sitting on the table calling to me to “come create”, I’ve got and idea for something, but not enough hours in the day to do it.

@Ken, Having no time to be creative is tough. I’d enjoyed my last week off due to my second surgery. I felt good and went to town! But, I’m back to work and now I feel housework as to take a back seat. I got used to playing and I don’t want to quit!!
(P.S. Don’t tell tell my husband :)

The pictures are great!! What is the green butterfly made with? I never can get the gold in without messing up the rest of the piece. Is the resin on the front only, how do you do the sides and back? I’d use my resin more if I could figure out how to cure the sides. Love friday mornings!!
@Sandra Cindy mentioned once using Glossy Glaze by Studio by Sculpey for the sides. That should blend the sides right in with the UV resined top and bottom.
@Sandra The butterfly piece was done by Brenda Moran. It is beautiful isn’t it. I think this was done with the faux jade technique. I’m not sure how she got so precise with the gold, though I do know it was done with a leafing pen.
These are all beautiies; quite stunning and so intricate with all the detail. I love them all; each one is so unique. I’ve done an UV resin pendant too but it’s in a competition. They take so long with the results. I would so love to have been able to post it here but it will have to wait.

Does anyone have a suggestion for coating round beads with resin? I bought some ICE Resin which does not need a UV light. Thanks so much!
I should explain more… does anyone have any experience working with the ICE Resin? It’s kind of expensive and I thought I “pick your brains” before jumping in and possibly wasting it. :)
@Marsha – Hi, Marsha, I have no experience with Ice Resin, but I know that there are others on this blog who do have. Not everyone sees all postings here, you have to subscribe to the entry, so the Ice Resin folks might not even know you have questions about it. The best thing for you to do is to type ice resin in the search box at the top of this page (left side) and then scan through the blog postings that come up.

UV resin, I want to try some for a project but can’t find it in California. The lady at “Outside the Box” talked about RJ Crafts. Only problem is they are not on the west coast area. I believe the stuff she was talking about is by DJ Coats
Where else can I get /he product? Any suggestions welcome.
