Polymer Clay Rose Cane - Color Recipe Ideas

Polymer Clay Rose Cane

Making Polymer Clay Rose Canes is Especially Fun When You Know How To Create Your Very Own Custom Clay Color Recipes:

The following is just a small sampling of the trendy recipes published every month in my Beads and Beading Backstage Membership Area.

Cashmere Rose
  12 parts White (Premo)
  4 part Fuchsia (Premo)
  1/2 part Cobalt Blue (Premo)
  1/2 part Zinc Yellow (Premo)

Deep Bordeaux
  14 parts Cherry Red (Fimo)
  2 parts Sun Yellow (Fimo)
  2 Parts Black (Fimo)
  1 Part White (Fimo)

Chili Pepper
  10 parts Fuchsia  (Premo)
  3 parts Zinc Yellow (Premo)
  2 parts White (Premo)
  Trace of Cobalt Blue (Premo)

Warm rich fiery reds and soft blushing pinks can also be found in this section of the membership site. Think hot peppers, a glass of wine, rose petals, bubblegum and juicy cherries… for some very fun project ideas and romantic inspiration.

I try to include a wide range of recipes that use all of the common polymer clay brands including: Premo, Fimo, Sculpey III and Kato clay… of course not all in the same recipe at once. :-)

If you haven't already done so, be sure to also read the Color Recipes for Polymer Clay - instructions page for general clay mixing tips.

I'd really love to hear what you are doing with rose petal beads and rose flower beads. They seem to be very popular these days.

I use lots of red in my art and look forward to making lots of red polymer clay beads. I love the vividness of red and it's one of my favorite colors. Even though I'm over 50 (barely!) and not a member of any Red Hat Clubs, these would be really useful for jewelry for that group. Of course, I'd have to go back and hunt for the "purple" recipes too!!
