Polymer Clay Color Recipes | Day Lily Coral Palette (Premo Sculpey)

Coral Lily Polymer Clay Color Palette

1A – Soft Melon
2A – Orange Lipstick
3A – Day Lily Coral
4A – Black Violet

Oooh you're going to love this color palette! I saw a fashion show on TV the other day which said that Orange and Pink combinations (Coral), are very popular and all the rage. Well wouldn't you know it… the Day Lilies in my garden, which are normally quite Pumpkin Orange, have mutated slightly and were very pretty Coral color this year!

Perfect timing! And that Black Violet color of the stamen is the 'most excellent' (my 80's roots are showing) compliment to the Corals I could even imagine.

I can envision lots of wonderful polymer clay beads and techniques made with these colors. How about you?

The following individual recipes will be added to the Polymer Clay Members Library during the month of Sept'09 in Volume-016 [A-Series]:

  • Soft Melon (Recipe 016-1A)
  • Orange Lipstick (Recipe 016-2A)
  • Day Lily Coral (Recipe 016-3A)
  • Black Violet (Recipe 016-4A)

Soft Melon is the pale coral color of the petal tips of the Day Lily in the photo. Orange Lipstick and Day Lily Coral are the deeper tones towards the center of the flower. And Black Violet is the deep Blackish Purple of the stamens of the blossom that give that punch of color contrast to this gorgeous flower.

This palette of lily colors is spot on. The next door circle has a dedicated gardener who has planted lilies of every size shape and color imaginable.

Just checked the colors this morning…oh, Cindy, the pinks and oranges are perfect, but, wow the black violet is just spot on with hers. It matches the stamens, but also a new variety of lilies she just planted this year. Perfect petal match, just gorgeous.

Thank you for the share.
