It&#8217;s no wonder they are often called Johnny Jump-up&#8217;s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">When I asked you guys about adding a tutorial video to the members library about demonstrating how to make a Johnny Jump-Up Cane, the response was very positive, as you can see by the feedback listed below. If you need assistance with these topics, there are other videos in the members library that teach what you need to know. The library volume references for these prerequisite videos are listed just below in the next section.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>Supplies, Tools and Prerequisites:<br \/>\nVideo-023-4: Johnny Jump-up Cane:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Clay Blade.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Pasta Machine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Good knowledge of making Skinner Blends or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beadvideos.com\/back-issues-01\/#vol-009\" class=\"external external_icon\" target=\"_blank\">Teardrop Blends<\/a> (Vol-009), as well as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beadvideos.com\/back-issues-01\/#vol-010\" class=\"external external_icon\" target=\"_blank\">Reducing Canes<\/a> (Vol-010). This Johnny Jump Up Cane is an intermediate level project with many steps. But even if you&#8217;re a beginner, you will still be able to do it as long as you follow all of the steps. Start by practicing the techniques in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beadvideos.com\/back-issues-01\/#vol-009\" class=\"external external_icon\" target=\"_blank\">Vid-009-3<\/a> (Teardrop Blend), as well as in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beadvideos.com\/back-issues-01\/#vol-010\" class=\"external external_icon\" target=\"_blank\">Vol-010<\/a> (Making and Reducing Leaf Canes).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Good firm clay in 4 colors plus white and translucent. I used Premo Sculpey clay mixed into the 4 colors of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/polymer-clay-color-recipes-johnny-jump-up-viola-palette-premo\/9045\/\">Johnny Jump-Up Color Palette<\/a> as my 4 colors. But you could use any color combination of your choice to create a different look. If your clay is soft and mushy, you will need to firm it up by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/fimo-soft-polymer-clay-too-soft-sticky\/985\/\">leaching<\/a> it on paper.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">You will need the approximate amounts of clay in each of these mixed color recipes:<strong><br \/>\n&gt;&gt;<\/strong> 1\/2 package Johnny Jump-Up,<br \/>\n<strong>&gt;&gt;<\/strong> 1\/4 package Song Bird,<br \/>\n<strong>&gt;&gt;<\/strong> 1\/8 package Bird Bath,<br \/>\n<strong>&gt;&gt;<\/strong> 1\/4 package Sunshine,<br \/>\n<strong>&gt;&gt;<\/strong> 1\/2 package White and<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><br \/>\n&gt;&gt;<\/strong> 1\/16 package Translucent or Frost Premo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The full version of the Vid-023-4 <em>Johnny Jump Up Cane <\/em>video will be posted in the Polymer Clay Members Library on Friday April 23, 2010.
