At least that&#8217;s how I felt after finishing the project pictured above. It&#8217;s Faux Turquoise and Crackled Gold Leaf, inlayed into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/polymer-clay-tutorial-faux-bone-faux-ivory-technique-video\/7197\/\">Faux Bone<\/a> covered container.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This project ended up as a Christmas gift for my Dad, and I just love how it looks <em>(so did he).<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">I&#8217;ll be making some Faux Inlay Pendants soon&#8230; and would be happy to demonstrate how to make them for you guys, in an upcoming library video.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">I&#8217;ve seen techniques in a book but since I&#8217;ve been a member, I&#8217;ve discovered how much better it is to see a process actually demonstrated.<\/span> <strong><span style=\"font-size: large;\">~Rose-M<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">If you&#8217;re interested in learning how to do polymer clay inlay work, please <em>cast your vote<\/em> in comments section at the end of this article. You can embed pretty much anything into a polymer clay base.\u00a0 But the faux techniques such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/polymer-clay-tutorial-faux-turquoise-beads\/1822\/\">faux turquoise<\/a>, faux bone,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/polymer-clay-faux-wood-fix-kids-pocket-knife\/1857\/\"> faux wood<\/a>, faux amber, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/polymer-clay-tutorial-faux-pebble-beads-beach-jewelry-projects\/3978\/\">faux stone<\/a> and even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/polymer-clay-tutorial-alcohol-inks-crackled-gold-leaf\/4051\/\">crackled gold leaf<\/a> with ink&#8230; all suit this technique especially well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The faux bone container in the photo above looks so real, that it is a bit of a shock to feel how light it actually is. There is no glossy finish on the container. All the shine comes from a very thorough <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/sanding-polymer-clay-beads-how-to-make-em-shine\/31\/\">hand sanding<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/buffing-polymer-clay-beads-dremel-mutipro-rotary-tool\/140\/\">buffing<\/a> with a Dremel rotary tool.
