Give Your Heart Wings With A Monarch Butterfly Cane:

With Valentines Day fast approaching, now is the time to be making your heart shaped beads and sweet heart pendants. Whether you make polymer clay jewerly for yourself, for<\/span> gift giving or for selling at an Etsy store, you had better get a move on. Today’s photo is of my latest Valentines Jewelry project… a winged heart pendant.<\/span><\/p>\n

I had originally planned for this pendant to be a simple heart shaped bead, embellished with a just a few polymer clay cane slices. But as I dug through my collection of polymer clay canes, I came across a monarch butterfly wing cane from a while back, and decided to give this piece some wings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Well one thing led to another and I ended up with what you see in the photo, complete with a tiny brass key. There are so many obvious symbolisms here that I have chosen not to name the pendant. It has just the right amount of quirkiness to really appeal to me… so I’ll probably end up keeping it for myself.<\/span><\/p>\n
