One of the most darling things about our 17 year old daughter Willow, is that she LOVES old trucks. Doesn’t matter if the paint is faded… if there’s a little rust over the wheel well… or if a dint or two is on the tailgate. She just loves them!<\/span><\/p>\n

This cute old Dodge Pickup is one that Doug took a photo of on our trip through Washington, Idaho and Oregon last year. It will always make me think of my dear young daughter whenever I see it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Willow is saving up to buy herself a truck right now, and spends hours on Craigslist and AutoTrader looking for one within her budget. She just graduated from High School and is working towards a career in Real Estate. A local Realtor has already hired her, so she does need a vehicle to get to work in… and also for driving to College where she’ll be doing selected studies in her field. She should probably be thinking of something better on gas, like a cute little hatchback or something, but Willow is determined to get a truck.<\/span><\/p>\n

And this old Dodge would be perfect… even more so if it were a Ford or a Chevy! But it is Blue and White (which is her favorite truck color combo)… its old, and… well… it’s a truck! It even looks like it has a gun rack… for when she suddenly takes up hunting!<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s not like she is a country girl or anything. I mean she is at heart… loves trucks and country music… but she actually lives in the city. So of course none of her friends can relate. But Willow is Willow and her mind is not easily swayed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here’s a song from Doug’s past that always reminds us of Little Willow’s strong personality… although I’m pretty sure “Little Willy” in the song is not a girl. No matter.<\/span><\/p>\n
