There are some photos that invoke feelings and memories that are difficult to truly understand unless you have been in a similar place yourself. This is one of those photos.<\/span><\/p>\n

This picture was taken by our daughter Willow from the window of our RV, just as dawn was breaking. We were at the RV Resort in Deer Park, Washington, just North of Spokane. It was our first real night camping in the trailer. We had slept the night before in the trailer at a rest stop on the way into Spokane, but that’s not really the same.<\/span><\/p>\n

Willow awoke early as the morning sun came in through the tiny window of her bunk. She was so moved by the scenery that she grabbed the camera and shot this picture, right through the window screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

That morning was the dawn of a new adventure for the whole family. And the feeling was quiet, peaceful and kind of magical. The last few years had been pretty difficult for all of us… with the never ending workload of trying to make a home based business get off the ground… coping with the terminal illness and death of Doug’s Dad… and just managing all the stuff that comes along with trying to raise a happy and healthy family in today’s hectic world. Let’s just say, getting out and taking our business on the road for our first PcT Roadtrip, was a welcome diversion!<\/span><\/p>\n

At that moment, at the crack of dawn… Willow with her camera taking pictures of the sunrise… Fisher peacefully sleeping in the bunk below… Doug putting on a pot of coffee… and myself crawling out of my bed in my pajamas to gaze out the window at the early morning sky… all was good, calm and exciting in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just looking at this picture right now, takes me back to all I felt in that very moment. Isn’t it amazing how a photo can do that?<\/span><\/p>\n
