No, that isn’t a can of salmon in this month’s inspiration photo for the Vol-059 B-color palette and recipe cards. It is actually a decorated garbage can that we found on the streets of Astoria Oregon last summer during our 1st PcT Roadtrip<\/a>!<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact these Salmon Tin Bins<\/em> were all over the place… especially downtown, close to where the Astoria Sunday Market happens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Situated at the mouth of the Columbia River, Astoria had a booming fish cannery that operated for many years. Today, the site is home to an amazing hotel. Here is a link to some historical pictures posted at Google Images<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can see the Cannery’s influence all over the place… not only in the trash cans, but also in the names of the restaurants, pubs and stores.<\/span><\/p>\n

So I thought since the Vol-059 A-series Sunday Market Palette<\/a> also had a tie-in to Astoria… that it would be perfect timing to do some color recipes inspired by the cannery themed garbage cans for this months Vol-059-B series color palette.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
