It’s as if Mother Nature grabbed her art brushes and gently laid down strokes of soft purple oil paints until this beautiful flower emerged on the canvas.

As anyone who has been following this blog must know by now… I am awestruck by the magnificent beauty of nature. The art that surrounds us every day by just stepping outdoors, is a constant inspiration for me. If you stop for a moment and observe the colors, shapes, smells and sounds that are swirling around our every day environments, you’ll never get stagnant or stuck for creativity. Your Muse is always there… if you only just open your eyes to see it.

Happily for me, Willow and her Dad Doug are also inspired by the beauty of nature. They capture its splendor in the beautiful nature photographs that get shared here at the blog, for all of you to see and be inspired by as well. It truly is a labour of love.

And to take the concept one step further, the photographs allow me to create unique color palettes that everyone can use for making beautiful polymer clay beads and art jewelry projects.

It is amazing really, that a tiny little crocus flower, blooming under a tree in a park in Surrey British Columbia, Canada, has the potential to live on in the jewelry of artists all throughout the world… around the neck of a young girl in England… or perhaps pinned to the suit of a business woman in New York… or even strung through a cord of leather on a surfer in Australia. These purple shades could turn up anywhere… truly incredible if you really think about it!

So any ways, without getting too much more philosophical, I should probably just present the Vol-048 A-series color palette that will be added to the Polymer Clay Members Library during the month of May 2012:

Crocus (Recipe 048-1A)

Amethyst (Recipe 048-2A)

Soft Periwinkle (Recipe 048-3A)

Royal Purple (Recipe 048-4A)

[wp_ad_camp_1]

… Crocus named for the soft medium hue Lavender Purple on the tips of this Purple Crocus blossom. Amethyst is the deeper Fuchsia based Purple found further down the petals of the Crocus. Soft Periwinkle is the pale Lavender Purple on the ruffled edges and in the highlights of the bloom. Just got my gardening bulbs flowers catalog and I never will look at them the same. I have taken art classes in high school and I enjoy painting and now I’m learning from your color recipes how you are influenced by nature. Thanks for your inspiration. I also look forward to your tutorials every week. Very excited about what you are offering here. I can see it is a labor of love. Take care you two, so you can continue to offer more and more. ~Patty-J

I began beading about 7 years ago with a love for natural stone beads and jewelry making. I recently developed an interest in polymer clay as a way to enhance my jewelry designs. The versatility of polymer clay and the endless possibilities for color blends and designs are truly unique to this medium. I have also been very fortunate to find talented polymer clay artists such as Cindy Lietz who graciously share their skills by teaching new artists the basics and beyond to make learning new techniques fun and easy. I look forward to sitting at my computer every Friday to see my new video tutorial and color recipes and refer back to the tutorials often when starting new projects. My inventory of polymer clay and clay tools are quickly growing to match my bead collection! ~Ann-P

***********************************************************************************************

If you would like more information about the Members Library, here are some direct links:

Library Member Benefits and What Others Are Saying
Order Page for Color Recipe and Video Back Issue Packages
Become A Full Member at the Library

Vol-048-A Series [Premo Sculpey] 1A: Crocus 2A: Amethyst 3A: Soft Periwinkle 4A: Royal Purple

[25
2353,588
post-15387","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-color-recipes","tag-crocus","tag-flowers
["GET
