Last week it was a cracked off knob from the living room lamp, used for making cute little <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/miniature-cupcake-beads-polymer-clay-tutorial-video\/13554\/\">Polymer Clay Cupcake Beads<\/a>. And this week my inspiration came from a carved wooden tulip, separated from it&#8217;s stem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Sometimes it&#8217;s the shape that inspires. Sometimes the color. This week is a bit of both with my version of a cute little Tulip Cane &#8230; <em>Sans Background!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">All right! You must have genuinely read my mind! I have been dying, just dying, to make a backgroundless flower cane. In fact, I must confess, I was on the verge of buying a tutorial on this very subject, so I am so glad my desires and your design, Cindy, came at just the right time! <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>~Becky-C<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><em>Well&#8230;<\/em> coming up tomorrow (Friday July 15th 2011) in the Vol-038-3 members video at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beadvideos.com\/back-issues\/\" class=\"external external_icon\" target=\"_blank\">Polymer Clay Tutor Library<\/a>, I&#8217;ll show you how to make this very cool and cute Tulip Cane. Plus we&#8217;ll be saving a chunk of the cane to make next week&#8217;s Sculpted Parrot Tulip Bead. All that from a broken wooden tulip!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>************************************************************************<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>Please Note:<\/strong><\/span> A general prerequisite for all of my weekly tutorials is that you have a good understanding of the polymer clay basics, including: conditioning clay, using a pasta machine, clay blade and other simple tools, making Skinner Blends or Teardrop Blends, baking clay, as well as sanding and finishing. If you need help in these areas, my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/crse\/01-more.html\">Polymer Clay Beginners Course<\/a> will get you up to speed quickly. There is also plenty of free information on this blog. I used the following 4 colors but you could use colors from another palette of your choice:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">&gt;5026 Pomegranate Premo Sculpey<br \/>\n&gt; 5020 Blush Premo Sculpey<br \/>\n&gt; 5525 Sunshine Premo Sculpey<br \/>\n&gt; 5007 Spanish Olive Premo Sculpey<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Knowledge of how to do my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/lietz-teardrop-blend-color-shifts-polymer-clay-tutorial-video\/13005\/\">Lietz Teardrop Blend<\/a> (or the more traditional Skinner Blend) &#8230; as well an understanding of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beadsandbeading.com\/blog\/polymer-clay-tutorial-basic-leaf-cane-reducing-canes\/2964\/\">how to reduce canes<\/a>. Because of the limited amount of time available for each tutorial, I am unable to repeat these techniques in video after video.
