Polymer clay jewelry as cool as this… is bound to bring you some good cheer! Can’t you just see me (or you)<\/em> dancing around the studio wearing this necklace and singing a happy tune? It is a Mixed Media Christmas necklace made with the Holly Leaf and Berry Canes<\/a> from the Volume-018-1 video tutorial.<\/span><\/p>\n

As you may have noticed from today’s featured Gallery post, as well as from previous ones (see Katiedids Bezel Pendant<\/a> for another example of a recent Gallery feature), these photo spreads are included here at the blog to provide you guys with creative jewelry making ideas and inspiration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Totally unique and arty, this asymmetrical Holly Leaf and Berry Bead and wire necklace, with it’s tasseled focal bead, is a real eye catcher! Wear this necklace to your next holiday event and you will definitely receive some compliments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each polymer clay bead is unique and handcrafted with attention to detail. Polymer clay canes of a Holly Leaf as well as a Holly Berry were first created then carefully applied to each polymer clay bead. The finish is buttery smooth through careful sanding and buffing.<\/span><\/p>\n

To accent the colors of the polymer focal beads, Green and Red Glass beads have been added to the design for color and sparkle.<\/span><\/p>\n

The beads were artistically wired into links using steel wire and a free hand. Bronze chain was added to the pendant as a tassel to give movement and texture to the piece. The wire and beads were finish coated with a fixative spray sealer called PYM-II<\/a>, specifically designed to protect metals, polymers, glass and other mixed media materials.<\/span><\/p>\n

This funky necklace is a total length of 15″ (38cm) from clasp at the back to the tip of the chain tassel at the bottom of the pendant.<\/span><\/p>\n
