Video #300: Roadtrip #1-04: Plus a sneak peak “guess who” photo at the bottom of this post.
This sweet little roadtrip chat in the trailer with long time member Carlee Nave, her son Skyler Dave and husband Sean, happened in the parking lot of the TRAC Convention Center in Pasco, Washington. We made this stop on our way from Spokane, WA to Portland, Oregon.
Remember the Covered Wagon Story from a couple of weeks ago… when our truck almost ran out of diesel fuel? Well that happened just before our visit with Carlee and her family…
By the way… I really must apologize to Sean (Carlee’s husband). I had got all wrapped up in chatting away with Carlee and Skyler Dave, that I had completely forgot to get you involved in the conversation. Getting up at 5 AM and driving for several hours in hot weather, not only caused a ‘bad hair day’ situation for me, but also fried the brain a little. ;). Too bad we were never able to make that pot of coffee… turns out we need an inverter installed to get the small appliances to work off of our 12 volt trailer battery system. AS RV Newbies, we’re still learning the ropes.

Another enjoyable visit. Wish we could have seen a bit more of what she had done. Young Skylar was a hoot.
Skyler is cute isn’t he! Carlee didn’t bring along any of her work for the visit. The jewelry that was on the table was mine. That’s why we didn’t show it in more detail. Carlee sure is a sweet woman and we really loved getting to know her and her family more. The visit was short but fun none the least.
Hi Nave family nice to virtually meet you. As far as the picture goes at first I thought that your description as “jolly” was a clue that he was Santa Claus. However, with all the paper, plastic, toxic paints and metals, non-biodegradable packing materials etc. I’m not sure how eco-friendly Old St. Nick really is. Lol!
Sean, you must be the strong silent type but hallo anyway. Skylee Dave certainly made up for it, loved the way he knew what to do with the mic. Carleen you certainly looked liked you enjoyed this visit (shame about the lack of coffee)
I cannot guess who the little bearded figure represents so will have to wait till later in the week to satisfy my curiosity.
Altogether a lovely visit, isn’t it amazing, the imagination of a child…wonderful…..cheers xx……………..

I think Skyler has a future in politics as long as he can get past being “100 % sure” . He is adorable. I hope he is enjoyingKindergarten. I love these videos. Not sure who the little dude is but he is really cute.

I have agree with Dixie…would have like to see some of Carlee’s work .. It’s always nice to see what our fellow pcer’s are doing… Shame she did not bring some of her work to the interview..Sklyleer is a typical 5 year old ….never know what they will say
What a darling family you have Carlee, would have love to see some of your polymer clay work but that little Skyler sure made up for it. It is so nice to have a relaxing outlet for your self when you have a very serious work environment. Cindy is so good at interviewing and we are so glad she was able to meet up with you and your famiy for this short visit. Hopefully you will be able to post a photo of something you made on the blog.
Skyler, a great entertainer with a lovely Mom, Calee and a handsome Dad, Sean. What a lovely family. So nice to share the time with you.

I’m enjoying these videos on the road trip very much, Cindy and Doug. Since I don’t know the members very well yet, it’s great to meet some of them thru video. Doug, as always, you do an excellent show. Agree on wanting to see some of Carlee’s work. And Skyler’s “Not 100% sure…” just made my evening.
I’m curious, Cindy, as to that long, large strand of polymer to the front of the table. They look like wheels? I’m intrigued as to what it is.
That curb chain you were wearing is what finally made me sign up her…and good thing, too! I love that color. But I’m going to use it for a Halloween Bat necklace I’m making tomorrow. Can’t wait.
Hi Andrea, thank you for the kind feedback! I am so glad you are enjoying the roadtrip videos. That long item on the table was my daughter Willow’s faux wood spoon she did for and art exhibit. We brought it along on the trip and is now hanging on the wall of the trailer. It is beautifully finished and is a great example to show people what a smooth buttery finish you can get by sanding and buffing alone. You can see a better close up of the piece in this teaser video of the Celtic Heart Tutorial.

Congratulations, Willow, on the beautiful spoon. It had me intrigued just lying on the table in the video. It certainly is a beautiful finish and I’m going to try the wood grain one of these days. Thanks!
