How To Organize Your Polymer Clay Cutters

Organizing Your Polymer Clay Cutters - Polymer Clay TutorVideo #586: This is the first of several studio tips and tricks videos I would like to share. Let me know if you want more.

Topics Covered In This Video:

  • You guys have been asking me how I organize some of my polymer clay tools, so I thought I’d start with showing you how to organize your polymer clay cutters.
  • I have a storage unit with slots for paper and three drawers. One drawer for cutters, one for molds and rollers and one for textures. I’ll just show the cutters today.
  • There are over 100 polymer clay cutters stored in this drawer, as well as my simple slicer.
  • The cutters sets are stored in bags, boxes and tins.
  • Boxed set of Amaco Bevel Edged Cutters.
  • Badge set of Studio by Sculpey Shape Makers Cutters with Impression Plates.
  • Three bagged sets of Amaco Polycutters.
  • The round tins are from Makins Clay Cutter Sets.
  • The square tin is a watch case tin (storage container tin).
  • Many cutters will fit inside the tins if you nest them together.
  • When cutters are stored flat like this, you can see all your shapes at once and can easily put them back when you’re finished with them.
  • When you can see your tools… you are more likely to use them!

This is a fab tip Cindy. I will be on the look out for some large flat tins over the holiday season. I have so many cutters and they are spread all over in drawers, butter containers, pill bottles etc; thank you for giving us a great tip on storing these.
