These “Spot” features are for you guys to display your accomplishments, share stories of inspiration and even ask for assistance with challenges that you may be experiencing. The projects are based on techniques learned from articles here at the blog, as well as from tutorials at the Polymer Clay Video Library. My hope is for these “Show and Tell” features to help everyone get to know each other a bit better, thanks to this wonderfully artistic medium of polymer clay. If you are interested in sharing pictures of your polymer clay projects with the community, please follow these 2 simple steps:
1) Email several of your photos to me as attachments. My email address is shown in the “From” line of the weekly Polymer Clay Newsletter that gets sent out each and every Friday morning.
2) Include a description and/or story about your pieces, being sure to reference the tutorial(s) or blog article(s) that provided at least some level of inspiration for your work.
Don’t be shy. Everyone is VERY friendly here.
In the comment section below, please do compliment each other; Offer encouragement; Ask questions about the techniques used; And in general… be social. This is your community! It’s up to you to make it a fun and supportive place to hang out. All of you are amazing and it’s wonderful to have everyone here!

Carole ~ Your faux opal took my breath away! It actually looks like a real opal! I am so impressed by what you made that I can’t stop talking about it to everyone that will listen. Not only is your opal breathtaking but your copper wire wrap and beaded necklace are AMAZING! What an inspiration you are, especially to someone like me who is struggling with this opal technique. Amazing! Carole, I feel like crying, your “heart” is so beautiful. Both hearts—yours and the one on its way to Peggy! I’m very moved, and impressed! The opal looks so real. The wire wrap & seed-bead necklace go perfectly with the opal to make a stunning piece. Brilliant!
Carole Questions: How are the seed beads done here? Are they threaded on wire & then coiled, or something more elaborate? I can’t tell for sure. All I know is, it looks great, and they bring out the colors in the F’opal! Re: those colors, are they merely from the inked snow, or did you use colored clay for the core of the bead, as well?
It’s good to know there are kind, thoughtful people like Peggy who will do whatever they can to get supplies to members so they can participate in the projects. She went way beyond what even Santa would do—her bag of snow vs.his bag of toys! This wire-wrapped faux opal heart necklace is such a fantastic reward for a generous offering. This makes me feel really happy. I’m so glad to ‘know’ both of you!
@Phaedrakat: the pendant is just put on four strands of thin cord then i put lots of seed beads onto thin wire then i got a wooden skewer and then held it over the cord putting the pendant in the middle then wound the wire and beads over and over .I then removed the skewer job done.

@Carole Holt: Oh how I wish everyone could see this fopal heart up close. The picture just did not do it justice. The colors shine and the wire work is awesome. The beading in the necklace just tops it off perfectly. Carole if you are not selling you work you definitely should be. It was so giving to send Carole the Buffalo Snow Flakes from your own supply… and that she would so lovingly send back a gift made with them, is only fitting! What goes around, comes around.
Carole you should be very proud right now. Not only did you do a beautiful job on the technique, but you made Peggy so happy by sending her your Faux Opal. You must be grinning from ear to ear to see how pleased she is!
Great faux opal heart bead Carole. I haven’t got around to trying that technique yet but stocked up on the Buffalo Snow at Michael’s after Christmas sale.

It is such a treasure to see what creative people there are on this list and what a fantastic teacher we get to learn from. Every friday monday, computer is on early to see what exciting thing I get to learn!
Carole H: This is a gorgeous overall necklace. The wire is out of control great. This piece made me brave the faux opal technique today for the first time. It’s cooking as we speak. And what a nice gesture as a thank you.

Beautiful pendant! I have not yet tried the faux-opal because I cant find Buffalo Snow(I looked everywhere around Christmas with no luck), and with your story I think I will not try it with Fimo gel when I find Buffalo Snow, I rather wait to buy Bake and Bond…

Carole, your opal is gorgeous. The colors in it are so real. I love the way you have wrapped it in copper too. But most of all its wonderful to see the generosity in this ocmmunity. It was so good of Peggy to send you the buffalo snow and I’m sure she will cherish this pendant made by you.The beaded necklace really does go well with the pendant. Is it a beaded necklace tubular peyote? Does the heart have a flat underside or is it complete rounded?
I told you Carole everyone would love can I say MY fopal. I am so very blessed to received such a beautiful gift from a friend like Carole. I did not expect a gift in return for my snow I just wanted everyone to get a chance to do Cindy’s tute. Let me tell you I am so trilled and honored that Carole is sending me this heart. I will wear it with much pride and tell everyone about how I got it. I wish I could of got on the blog earlier today but we have had bad weather till about an hour ago. Lots of rain some of it needed to get all those fields of corn and our garden of course going. Corn is important here in Iowa and the farmers have been very busy preparing and planting. Thank God for the rain and Thank God for slowing it down enough so I could comment on this now my favorite subject in this blog. I hadn’t seen the necklace part of the opal until today and it is the perfect companion to this gorgeous opal. I love the bead-work Carole. I will never be able to express how grateful I am for this heart touching gift.

You mastered this technique! I love it! The depth you got is amazing! The wire wrapping is very unique and I would like to attempt this.
Carole, What type of Flakes did you use? It looks like tiny flakes unlike the ones that I used. I had trouble with the flakes wanting to hang out of the B&B.
