Welcome Kim! It's great to have you here!

I'm glad your cane turned out great. What do you mean it's upside down? Is it the veining? Because you could reshape the cane by pinching the round end to a point and rounding off the pointed end, to flip it the right way, if you wanted to.

I finally became a member after finding this site by accident while looking for information on making canes. I followed your veined leaf tutorial and made my first cane today! I made it upside down but it still looks great. I love this site!!!

You are so cute Jamie! Radioactive mutant plant forms!! Hahahaha! Made a few of those in my life! Especially using that squishy old Sculpey III! Boy did those canes suck!

Yeah the books are neat and everything but they just aren't as good for teaching as video is. Too many steps get left out.

Thank you for all the support and great comments! Sure do love having you around!

Bravo Hun on another great tutorial. You made it look so simple and easy. Wish I'd have seen this when I tried my first ones. I remember trying to follow directions from a book and agonizing over trying to make mine look like the ones in the illustrations. But of course there werent enough pictures. And of course they didnt look very much like leaves when I was done. Unless of course they were some kind of radioactive mutant plant form, LOL! But if I could have watched a good tutorial like yours I have no doubt I would have done much better and much sooner, with lots less frustration. Thanks so much for being you and sharing so generously with everyone the way you do. I know if more people could watch your tutorials, the ranks of clayers would grow exponentially when they saw how easy and fun it really is and passed the word along.
    XOXO Jamie

Believe it or not, black and white make excellent colors for this style of leaf cane. Very graphic and modern looking!
