Thanks everyone for the fun commenting! Ken I haven’t been able to see your clips yet. Bet they’re great though!

A touch of musical info about myself. As a teen I played flute in a youth orchestra as well as in several ensembles. Got to play on TV in the the Variety Club Telethon (back before it had famous people on it). Don’t play any more, but do still have a love for all things musical.

Maybe you gifted folks who sing could send audios to be added, so that while we are having our coffee, reading the blog, and deciding what to make next, we could listen to your work. Be fun! Love being exposed to and listening to varied and creative snippets I would never hear, otherwise.

Be interesting to see what audio here would bring to the creative process, though, it might be too much of a distraction here. I have to download some of that medival monk chanting now….just came to me, LOL!

Oh and I love that first orchestra rehearsal, when you get to hear how it’s going to come together.

We performed a piece composed by our accompanist in the last concert we did. Only the second time it’s been performed and he orchestrated it for our performance so we’d only heard the vocal parts in rehearsal. It’s a fantastic piece and it as the orchestra played the first section my jaw just dropped then I got a huge grin on my face! Sounded like something from a film, which is about the highest praise I can give. :)

There is nothing little about a solo (same deal as there are no small roles)

Like I was saying to Catalina I have two short clips from the first Orchestra Rehearsal, but theres full Orch., costumes, sets so everything is there that was there in the performances except an audience. The character’s name was Antonio (he’s the gardener for the count) in Marriage of Figaro.

@Ken Yay opera! I’m a singer myself (don’t do opera though, I sing in a choir with very occasional little solos – sacred choral stuff mostly).

Being an alto I get annoyed that sopranos seem to get all the good parts!
