Hello Pratibha. Welcome!

As far as the supplies you want You will be able to get those in NJ. Micheals or JoAnnes craft stores will have the first three items and Home Depot or Walmart will have the Varathane. For #2 buy the Studio by Sculpey Glazes instead of the regular Sculpey glaze. Click the link by my name to see a photo of the right product. And for #3 regular plain card stock is fine. It doesn't need to be oven proof, since the temperature is low.

The best thing for learning about polymer clay is my Polymer Clay Bead Making Course for Beginners but since it is only in video, I'm not sure if not being able to hear it would work for you or not.

Other than my videos, another great resource for learning about polymer clay is in the different posts and comments on this blog. You can use the search box at the top left hand side of the page, as well as the links below it to help you find the information you need.

If you have any more question, feel free to ask!

Dear Cindy,

I am deaf, so unable to provide a telephone number! I am new to Polymer clay and want to learn how to make beads. However, I am here for a very short time and want the following items:

(1) Sculpey liquid clay - (translucent, bakeable, transfer & color medium)

(2) Sculpey Glaze -in Satin and Gloss finish,

(3) Oven-proof Card Stocks and

(4) Flecto Varethane varnish.

Where can I find these items? Will they be available in NJ? I am going there next week. Also how are these items used on polymer clay.

I am learning thru websites but don't know how and when to apply/use these items. I'd really appreciate a few tips and some information here.

Thank you very much,
Sincerely,
Ms.Pratibha Kanitkar

@Jocelyn: Thanks! I bet your brother would love to get some beads that looked like the old farm cats. Perfect reminder of how they used to pester him!

@Lupe: Thank you! Any of the color palettes would work for Julie's technique. Just layer them and away you go! That is sweet that Candy reminds you of Teddy. I bet you miss him!

Love the colors. I could easily see that palette used in one of Julie's Picarello's pieces...just add some gold to it. The picture looks just like one of my cats that I used to have...Teddy was his name. Thanks.

Cindy, you sure did get these colors accurate! Lived on a semi-farm with tons of cats, and I can see each's eye colors here. So neat. Have to see if can add translucent to your mix and get some "cat's eyes" canes going. Be nice to send my brother a bookmark, since the cats "tortured" him out back working on his cars, LOL!
