Idea for Jewelry Making Classes, Polymer Clay Sculpture Flower Beads

Sculpted Polymer Clay Flower Bead

Want To Learn How To Make A Sculpted Fimo Flower Bead For a Custom Pendant Project?

This unique flower bead is a step outside of my usual chunky style. The dainty petals on this mysterious blossom, twist and turn and unfold like no other flower on earth.

If you have seen some of my other pendants like yesterday's Hollyhock flower cane design, or the Rose pendant necklace from a while back, you'll see that this tiny, highly detailed bead is quite a bit different.

It's only about a 1/2" across and was sculpted on a small cube of copper colored Fimo clay. Each petal was shaped from a teeny tiny ball of custom colored clay that was pushed into the base bead with a stylus.

Twisty little vines and berries were added around the base of the sculpture, and then a hole was drilled through the side so that it can be wired and hung like a pendant.

I am very pleased with how this bead turned out and am thinking it would make a great bead design for jewelry making classes. What do you guys think? Is this the type of sculpted flower bead you would like to learn how to make? Let me know by leaving a comment below!

This is a beautiful bead Cindy! I would love to learn how to make one, but more importantly, to learn how to work "small".

Thanks Carol! Yeah it can be tricky to work small, especially if you have fairly big fingers like I do! :-) These sculptural beads are really fun to make though and aren't as hard as they look!
